Procedures of a prosecution If any IP right owners identify infringing goods in exhibitions, he/she can promptly react by reporting to C & ED through HKBPA under the Scheme. Officers of the C & ED will obtain information from our database and investigate in the exhibitions. Searches in the office will be done if necessary. If adequate supporting evidences are collected, arrests by C & ED will be carried out.
Before verification and prosecution have not been made, the arrested can bail out on conditions depending on the extent of his/her suspected crime. Prosecution would be made after investigation within 1-2 days. The defendant has to attend courts to make any further plea.
