Abuse of the Scheme![]() In some cases even an IP right owner can not guarantee that all supporting documents about the rights are valid. For example, if the draft of the trademark is done by a contractor, an IP right owner has to rely on the documents prepared by the contractor. No legal liability will be attached to the IP right owner if a vow to show his sincerity in believing those documents to be valid. If any vow is made fraudulently, the IP right owner may risk a criminal record and imprisonment if convicted.
