Every year over 80 trade exhibitions and fairs about different industries, including toys, watches and jewelry were held in Hong Kong. With the establishment of AsiaWorld Expo and the expansion of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, it is believed that Hong Kong exhibition industry will flourish.

In a normal proceeding about prosecution of infringement upon intellectual property (IP) rights by the Customs and Excise Department (C & ED), once a report is received, C & ED will require one to two weeks for identifying and verifying the owner of the infringed property right. However, the normal duration of an exhibition is only about three days. Therefore report about new products launched in exhibitions may not be handled timely.
